Spelthorne Mental Health Association’s day centre at Beresford House, in the peaceful surroundings of Fordbridge Park, 325 Kingston Road, Ashford TW15 3SJ is reopening on 19 July after being closed since March 2020 because of Covid.
We welcome back our existing clients, and have room for new ones. Covid has caused a great deal of mental distress, which we exist to help people with. We offer companionship & support in a non-stigmatising atmosphere, plus satisfying activities in art & crafts, and will be offering a basic computer course soon. The service is free, funded by a charity shop, and we run two minibuses to transport clients to the day centre and for occasional outings.
The day centre is open Monday – Thursday mornings from 10.30 till 12 noon. If you are between 18 and 65 and feel that coming to the day centre would benefit your mental state, please ask your GP or mental health professional to refer you. Beresford House is a Victorian building with smallish rooms and narrow corridors, so we recommend that everyone wears masks inside. During the closure, some of us have been meeting in the pleasant garden, and some classes may be held outside in summer.
